The Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Berkshire Medical Center offers comprehensive clinical care for the full range of respiratory disorders. Inpatient and outpatient consultation is available for such disorders as asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, respiratory failure, pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, lung nodules, pleural disease, and sleep disordered breathing. A full range of diagnostic and therapeutic options including bronchoscopy, thoracentisis, arterial blood gas, oxygen therapy evaluation, cardiopulmonary exercise testing and bronchoprovocation testing and ambulatory esophageal pH testing are available.

Our five board certified pulmonologists (also board certified in critical care medicine) provide medical leadership for the Critical Care and Respiratory Care Units at Berkshire Medical Center, as well as the fully accredited Pulmonary Function Laboratory, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and Sleep Disorders Center.
