Friends of Renal Dialysis
We call ourselves FORD, which is an acronym for Friends of Renal Dialysis. We are a registered, nonprofit, charitable corporation established by renal patients, their families and friends. FORD membership is voluntary and its officers and members receive no income for their participation.
What we do:
- Sponsor various educational programs for patients and the renal staff at Berkshire Medical Center
- Provide equipment for the renal unit such as dialysis chairs, hemodialysis machines and cardiac monitors as well as some of the TVs and VCRs to help make the dialysis treatment as comfortable as possible
- Donate to Berkshire Medical Center for the provision of other dialysis-related items
- Host a fun-filled annual family picnic, acknowledge monthly birthdays, and help with special patient needs
We need financial support. Over the years, we have given more than a quarter million dollars in various forms of support to the Renal Dialysis Unit at Berkshire Medical Center and we rely on your generosity in donations and bequests so that we may continue to help provide a high standard of care by our renal center. We need volunteers to help plan fundraising events and educational programs and to determine how the needs of the renal unit can be best served by our organization.
Join us in bringing together people with kidney disease, their families and the renal-care professionals who are dedicated to improving patient quality of life. It's not just a lifestyle...it's a life! Thank you for your support.
