Fairview Surgery Patient Instructions
Surgical patients will come to the hospital approximately one week prior to their surgery for a Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) appointment. During this time your will verify that all of your insurance information is current and on file. You will meet with the anesthesiologist to discuss your past experiences with anesthesia and discuss your plan for your up-coming surgery.
You will also meet with a registered nurse to discuss what medications you are taking, obtain a brief history, and answer any questions you may have. At this visit you may have other tests, such as blood work, x-rays or electrocardiograms performed to guarantee that you are physically ready to have your surgery. Please bring a current list of your medications and the doses and times you take them with you.
