Radiology is at the forefront of a revolution in healthcare, and the benefits are all available, right here in our own community. Today, BHS facilities provide such state-of-the-art technology as the 16-slice CT scanner at Berkshire Medical Center and Fairview Hospital, and high-speed, high-resolution MRI scanners designed for unprecedented clarity and greater patient comfort. Interventional radiologists at BMC now use imaging technology and tiny instruments to treat tumors, blockages, infections and hemorrhages without surgery. And a multi-million-dollar Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) instantly stores a patient's diagnostic images and makes them available on demand to physicians involved in the patient's care.

In 2007, BHS will perform over 185,000 radiology tests and procedures and  provide 24-hour emergency care at BMC and Fairview. Our radiologists collaborate closely with emergency physicians, cardiologists, orthopedists, surgeons and other medical specialties and act as expert consultants in the care of our patients.
