At Berkshire Health Systems, 68 board-certified or board-eligible surgeons perform over  17,000 procedures a year. Leading the Department of Surgery at Berkshire Medical Center is Timothy C. Counihan, MD, a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon, who is both Chairman of the department and Program Director for the General Surgical Residency Program at BMC.
At Fairview Hospital, George T. Veinoglou, MD - who provides both general surgery and surgical endoscopy - serves as Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
