Medical Surgical Unit at Fairview

Our 19-bed combined Medical/Surgical Unit provides care for both medical and surgical patients hospitalized under any of the specialty services offered at Fairview Hospital.  In addition, a designated Pediatric Room is available to provide medical and surgical care to infants and children.

Our Medical/Surgical area is staffed by a team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, & nursing assistants whose diversified experience and expertise combined to provide excellent nursing care in a caring and compassionate environment. Several of our RNs have achieved national certification in the care of the medical/surgical or geriatric patient.

Hospitalist Model of Care
The experience of hospitals across the country has shown that the Hospitalist model of in-patient care improves the patient experience.  During your stay at Fairview, our physician hospitalist will maintain communication with your primary care physician who will be notified if there are any significant changes in your condition.  You and your family will have access to our Hospitalist who will coordinate nurses, specialists and the diagnostic and clinical services you need during your hospitalization.  Upon discharge, your physician will receive a full report on your diagnosis, significant findings, changes in medications and important information for your follow-up care.

Visiting hours are flexible and dependent on patient needs for testing and care.

Outpatient Surgical Services/Medication Infusion Therapy at Fairview
Our Surgical Day Care service provides dynamic same day surgical care to patient with a variety of ambulatory needs. The scope of ambulatory services includes but is not limited to, eye surgery, orthopedic surgery, GYN surgery, pain management and medication infusion therapy. Our Pre-Surgical Testing service ensures safe, efficient care of the highest quality.
